Cooper

Dog Training

Heel work, recall, general obedience

Date

September 2024

Background:
I began training with Cooper at just 9 weeks old. As a first-time working breed for his owner, it was important to lay the right foundations early on to ensure Cooper developed into a confident, well-mannered adult dog. His owner was committed to doing things right from the start and sought guidance to build essential skills and structure.

Training Approach:
From the beginning, our focus was on creating a solid base through consistent, positive training. Cooper’s programme included:

- 1. Foundational Puppy Training:
Basic obedience, engagement, socialisation, and house manners.
- 2. Day Trains & Pack Walks:
Regular outings with structured training in real-world environments.
-3. One-on-One Sessions:
Targeted work with both Cooper and his owner to strengthen communication and reinforce progress at home.

Progress:
Cooper has shown remarkable development, responding enthusiastically to training and thriving in both structured sessions and social settings. His confidence, responsiveness, and ability to focus have all grown significantly with time and consistency.

Outcome:
Now blossoming into a well-rounded young adult, Cooper is a testament to the benefits of early intervention and committed ownership. I absolutely adore him, and have created a lovely bond with him. With a strong foundation in place, he’s well on his way to becoming a happy, reliable companion with all the makings of a true working Cocker Spaniel.
