I can't believe how much Be More Monty Dog Training has grown over the last year - it's been such an incredible journey! From celebrating the small wins to witnessing huge breakthroughs, I genuinely love every part of the dog training process. So here's some facts about me...

I took the leap and went self employed in November 2025. It was terrifying - but, oh my word, INCREDIBLE! I absolutely adore my job, and couldn't imagine doing anything else.
Dogs have always been my safe space as I am the type of person who really struggles with their mental health. Living with anxiety from a young age meant that I found comfort in the non-judgemental presence that only a dog can give. "Be More Monty" means far more than what it says on the surface, Monty has carried me through some of my toughest days. As a business owner, mental health is a non-negotiable for me. It matters, it's necessary, and it deserves to be prioritised every single day.
I am obsessed with listening to music in the car - so if your dog has ever been in the car with me, they've probably been subjected to my singing!
I really wanted to be a vet when I was younger, but I got too emotional watching the Supervet when Noel Fitzpatrick had to put a dog to sleep, and then I discovered that I HATED science
Monty and I passed all the Kennel Club Good Citizen Schemes (bronze, silver, gold) and we won the Phoenix K9 Training Pet Dog Trials Novice title in summer '25
I have no idea what breed of dog my next dog will be it: it will simply be a case of right litter, at the right time.
Every single one of my client dogs hold a very special place in my heart, and I love building bonds with them. Being trusted by their owners and getting to share even a small part of their lives never stops feeling like a pinch me moment.
I am incredibly accident prone, and live with chronic pain so I have to careful how I balance exercise and everyday life. Despite this, one of my bucket list goals is to run the London Marathon!
I share an incredibly special bond with Monty, and he is always with me - whether thats lay under my desk whilst I do admin, adventuring up on the Yorkshire Wolds, supporting my 1:1s or curled up on the sofa with me during my lunch.
It was only when I got deep into training during Monty's excitement reactivity journey that I realised balanced training methods was my preferred training style.
I LOVE learning - I'm just about to finish the PHX K9 Training mentorship program, but I have also already done the Au.K9 pet dog program, canine touch webinars, attended a variety of seminars from play to reactivity, and I've just started Raven K9 Training's online mentorship too. And I still can't wait to keep learning more!
